1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It does not store official files, retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit documents for a user.

The site identifies custodians such as the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office, Inyo Superior Court, California Department of Justice, and California Megan’s Law Website, and may also connect readers with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

• Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
• Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
• Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
• Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
• Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
• Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against a person, and such conduct may be criminal. California Penal Code section 290.46 restricts misuse of California Megan’s Law Website data. Registry information supports public safety awareness, not vigilantism or prohibited discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come from an authorized California Department of Justice process or an FCRA-compliant screening provider.
